My husband gave me 20 dollars to get some groceries from the dollar store, as we (my son and I) were in there we found a light up bouncing ball for a dollar, so I said he could get it. We got up to the counter and their was another mom ther counting out dimes and nickels for a gallon of milk and some cheese. She had four little kids with her, one of the children asked if they could get crackers for their chili and the mom said they didn't have enough money, but she went to try and get some anyway. As she approached the counter I told the cashier to put the crackers on my bill. She did, my son looked on as the mom began to cry and thank me profusely. The mom left still crying and we took our groceries to the car, my son asked me if he needed to return his ball to pay for the crackers as tears fell from his face. I told him no, but I learned a lot yesterday. Even though my kids might not have Christmas gifts this year, at least their will be food on our table. I've learned that just because things are bad, there is always people worse off than myself. I just felt led to share our experience, sorry if I offended anyone.
Just an update, I was dismissed from my job today. I checked with the local help agency and my kids are too old for help. I have two 13 yr old girls, a 11 yr old girl and a 9 yr old boy. I did find an artificial tree at the dump that I was able to clean up. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I will repay the favor somehow!

Hello, can someone tell me where to find help with an artificial Christmas tree? I'm recently married with 4 children ages 13,13,11, 9. My husband and I are struggling to not lose everything we have due to the economy losing his job. I just want a decent tree to decorate with the kids, I'm not asking for presents cause gifts are not the. Real meaning of Christmas but I would like a little spirit here for the kids. The kids know there might not be many presents except what friends get them but I want them to have a tree. Any suggestions?
